Our Story

Martin Farms Beef Co. is a family owned American Wagyu operation rooted in Barwick, Georgia.

Sam has farmed his entire life. After graduating from UGA, he came home to build his own operation from the ground up. Livestock wasn’t part of the plan. In fact, he used to say he’d never run cattle. But when a neighbor retired and offered him land ready for a herd, he stepped into the opportunity.

He fed out a few traditional steers with one goal: put truly great steaks on our family’s table. Despite doing everything he knew to do, the quality fell short.

That’s when everything changed.

Sam dove into cattle genetics and learned that exceptional beef doesn’t start with feed. It starts with bloodlines. Once we saw the difference genetics made, we knew we were building something worth sharing.

We began selling beef in 2019. When 2020 exposed how fragile large scale food systems can be, it confirmed what we already believed: local, transparent food sources matter. We haven’t looked back since.

Today, I handle the website and marketing while homeschooling our two boys, Zack and Luke. Sam does what he feels called to do - raise exceptional beef and produce with no shortcuts and no corners cut.

At the end of the day, it all comes back to one goal: putting honest, high-quality food on your table the same way we do at ours.

Our cattle spend the entirety of their lives on pasture with no added hormones or antibiotics. We dry age our beef for a minimum of 14 days and use a local USDA inspected processing facility.
